■Following axe the results of a aeries oi Sparrow-shooting . Sweepstake Matches conducted under tlie auspices of the Styx Gun Ciub on Saturday. . Tho weather waa perfect for the purpose, aad some real good Bhooting resulted. iTessrs W. Claridge and \V. Burney acted as handicappere, and carried out their duties in a very efficient manner. Mr J. Tulett filled the position of referee very creditably. Tho first of threo legs for a trophy presented by Mr P. Sisson was decided over a shoot of 10 sparrows each, resulting in Mr R. Baynes securing 10 points, J. Prebble 8, "W\ Burney 8, D. Milne 8, A. Fairbairn 7, E. Spencer 7, J. Tulett 7, C. Claridge 7, J. Popper. 6, F. Claridgo 6, A. Buckicy 5, S. Claridge 5. F. Sisson 5, T. Higham 5, W. Donald 5, R. Pugh 5. First Sweepstake, 6 sparrows each—J. Tulett (18yds), 6 birds, 1; W. Burney (18yds), 6 birds, 2. Sixteen competed. Socond Swoepatake, 10 sparrows each—R. Baynes (20vds), 10 birds, 1; T. Prebble (21yds), W." Burney (18yds), pi, Milne (17yds), each shot 8 birds and divided second and third moneys. Sixteen competed. Third Sweepstake, 6 sparrows each—W. Burney (18yds). F ' Clsridpe <20yds), J. Tulett (18yds), and C. Claridge (17yds) each killed all their birds and divided the stakes. Sixteen competed. Final Sweepstake, first miss out—Aftor th© fourth round T. Higham, J. Tulett and F. Claridge wore the only ones left in. and they decided to divide the stakes. Twelve competed. /
