HEATHCOTE DEBATING SOCIETY.
At its last meeting the Heathooto Literary and Debating Society held a debate on "Doe-a the present form of Government give expression to the will of the People?" Messrs W. A. McDowell, Connal, and Burnoll took the affirm alive, and Mcaara J a*. Weir, Flavel and A. Weir the negative. On a vote being taken by the audience, tho negative supporters -were declared, winners.
