SHIPPING AFFECTED
GERMAN VESSELS IN AUSTRALIA
SYDNEY, .August 2. At the present time, of the thirteen German steamers, including the mail steamers, in the Australian ports or on the waters, three* are ..loading coal at Newcastle. The Luneberg, Linden, and Uim left hurriealy yesterday, and two others, with only part-cargoes, ar9 clearing the Customs, ostensibly for Java or other Eastern ports. Another German 6teamer, the Wesfcfalen, coal-laden, has cleared for Bremen. — From their hurried departure, it is surmised that tho captains have received instructions from Germany to proceed to a neutral port. The German Consul disclaims any knowledgo of the matter.' - Several German sailing vessels remain in Newcastle. Shore ieave to the men on the Gerr. an steamers at present'in Sydney has been stopped.
