ELLESMERE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
The perioral committee of the Ellesniero Agricultural, and Pastoral Association met at Leeston on Thursday, th-i president (Mr. W. B. Cunningham) presiding over an attendance of twenty-four members. Mr. W. F. M. Buckley wrote, thanking the association for nominating hiru for" election to the Board of Agriculture. He added that ho lia-d always taken a keen intercut in the agricultural and pastoral industries of the Dominion, and that ho was, therefore, looking forward to congenial work on tho board. 3lr. John Kennio, senr., thanked the committee for- electing him- an honorary life-member of the association, 'but" asked that his uarno should bo removed from the Dairy Produce arid Junior Classes Sub-committee, as he regretted, h© was no longer able to assist. It was decided to hold the annual show on October 22nd. Mr Hugh Brown (Dunsandel) was elected a member of the association. Tho schedule for the nest show was revised, and judges were appointed. Mr Isaac Andrew offered to give a champion ribbon for the best Border Leicester ram. find his offer was accepted- with thanks, tt was decided that it should ba a condition attached. to' the shields for two-year-old draught colts and fillies that the animals must be bred by exhibitors. It was decided to reduce the entry fees for special prizes in the grain, seeds, roots, and poultry sections, in cases where the association's prize did not exceed 10s from 2s fid to Is. The president gare an outline of the business transacted at tho meeting of the central committee of tho Panama Pacific Exposition.
