♦— MISHAP AT ASHBURTON. TWO CARRIAGES DERAILED. LITTLE DAMAGE DONE. As tho slow train from Christchurch was approaching Ashburton Station last evening, about 7.20 o'clock, it jumped the points, and two of the carriages, Which were filled with passenleft tho rails. The carriages did not overturn, but the passengers received a rather alarming shaking. .Tho derailed cars were replaced on the line by a gang of men about ten o'clock. No damage was caused except tho bending of some of the rails.
