AT LYTTELTON
The shipping at Lyttelton.Yesterday was gay /with bunting on tho occasion of Jibe King's Birthday. Tho local corpf paraded" at the Drill Shed and, headed by the band of. the Coastal Defenco Troops, marched to the Military Barracks on Sumnor road, where the- New Zealand ensign was hoisted, and the Royal salute given,-a short prayer for his King George V. being also delivered by ColonelChaplain Chambers. Captain D. McDonald was in charge of the parade, the state of which was as follow:—No. 4 Company New Zealand Garrison Artillery Territorials, Captain J. P. E. Vealo, Lieutenants Evenden and Harris, and 64 rank and file; No. 11 Company Senior Cadets, Lieutenant Anderson and.-39 rank and file: Band of the Coastal Defence Troops, 20. : ,At the King Georgo V, SeamenVlnstituto, Lyttelton-; about forty sailors and' 'firemen werie entertained at tea* and in the evening' thero-was a largo attendance at a .patriotic' concert, tho items being.-, supplied, bjv the Linwood Orchestra. ...,: ; ; ;;,-;' •■.■,.. ..-■•• '...
