DOUBLE FATALITY.
CHARGE AGAINST A SYDNEY TAXI-DRIVER. (By Cable.—Proas Association.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, Juno 8. Stanley Clarke Grecnway, aged 21, driver of tho motor-car which killed two people on tho night of -Saturday, May 16th, has been committed for trial for manslaughter in causing tho death of Goorge Adams.
Ho was acjquittcd on a charge of causing tbe death of Miss Goodspecd.
Miss Emily Goodspoed (32), recently employed at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, was crossing Parramatta road, near the intersection of Johnston street, at 10 o'clock ou tho Saturday night in question, when a car came round the corner from Northumberland avenue. Sho was knocked down, and dragged along the road rome distanco beforo tho car pulled up The occupants of the car lifted her inside, and drove off to tho Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It was while they wero on their way to the hospital with the injured woman that tho second accident occurred. Tho victim was George Adams, a carter, of 8 Darley street,' Glebe, He waa standing on a corner opposito tho University Grounds, -in Parramatta road. As ho stepped on to the roadway to catch a Vara for the city, ho collided with the motor. Adams was picked un, and found to bo suffering from a fractured skull and injuries to tho body. He was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a wagrpon, and admitted by Dr. Cohen. Both ho and the woman died shortly afterwards.
