The annual meeting of the Wait** - -! Licensing Committee was'held yesterday in the Waimate Courthouse, t'roseut—Messrs V. G. Hay, S.M. (chairman), VV. H. Beckett, E. C. Studholme, and St. John _-iic_.ey. The following publicans' licenses wore granted, the police reports being lavoui able:—Empire Hotel, Waimate, Peter R. Reikie; Criterion Hotel, Waimate, John Lawlor; m a'mate Hotel, Morgan O'Brien; Railway Hotel, lvurow.°John A. Greir; Duntroon Hotel, Maria Hoy; Empire Hotel, Duntroon.. Herbert "VV. Orr; Glencoo Hotel. G\onavy, Thomas Tansey; Kurow Hotel, J. J." Spiers. ... In the caso of the Royal Hotel, W aimate (A. Craighead, licensee), applicant's solicitor stated that tho repairs and improvements required by tho police report would be effected in conjunction with a contract, tor extensive additions .to the hotel in the event ot the licensing poll b.ing favourable. Tho committee granted an adjournmenn.. The io lowing accommouation licenses were' t-raated:— Georgetown Hotel, Arthur W. Hills: Railway Hotel, Wailiao foiks, Walter Ford: Otematata Hotel, Laiannah Munro.: Victoria Hotel Lv ingstone, Alex. Patterson; 1.-dciiff Hotel. A. W. Stott; 0 marama Hotel' John S. Woods. Regarding the Termmns Hotel, _Haiataramoa (A bert Stuart Bragg, licensee), Mr Ongloy said the repairs awl additions stipulated were being carrica out. Tho application Mas adjottrned till September. A wholesale liwmse held by -tfe Rational Mortgage and Agency Co., _ N aimate. was - renewed.
