COUNTY COUNCILS.
WAIPARA.
The monthly meeting of the Waipara County Council was held on Saturday. Present: Messrs A. Todd, W. F. Pantiett, N. D. Campbell, and It. Evans. In Blio absence of the. chairman, Mr A. Todd was voted to the chair. Correspondence was read from Mr C. R. Campbell, asking that a sufficient sum of money bo placed on tho estimates to road his property. —Consideration deferred till next- meeting. Prom Mr James Baxter, regarding the, rough state of the ford on Scott's road. —It was decided to have it attended to. MeSsrs Anderson and Aires interviewed the Council regarding tho stato. of tho crossing at the junction of Pyramid Valley and Horsley Down road.—lt was decided that Cr. Evans inspect'the crossing and report to next meeting. Messrs Burrows and Sloss attended regarding the shingling of Jury's "road.—lt was decided to do the worst parts when teams were available. The ranger wa_ instructed to stio all persons*'having unregistered dogs. The following Government grants wero applied for:—Weka Crpek bridge. £300; first Breta bridge, £200; deviation at Roberts's cutting, £250.
