— -—« - SUMNEB CLUB. The Sumner Bowling Club mot on Monday night. Mr G.-W.'C'Smithson, who presided, reported that- tho erection of the pavilion was well in hand, and would be finished in a fortnight. -Mr Watson, jeweller, donated a clock for tho'ouUide of the pavilion, for which he was tendered a hearty vote of thanks. Mr H. W. Hislop offered to presehb tha club with a policy of insurance, covering the pavilion, tank stand, and plant, which was accepted with thinks. Mr G. W. C. Smitheou was elected a delegate to tho Canterbury Centre. ' Further donations in aid. of the club's funds were received from inerabers. Nino new members were elected.
