The sub-committee appointed lo report in regard to future planting on Wakefield avenue recommended that thirty silver birch trees be procured for planting about eleven yards apart, from Mr Kings'cote'a gate to «he Creek bridge, and that from that point, for a distance of about four hundred yards the work be left in abeyance. .That twenty flowering thorns be planted from the quarry northwards, and that twenty mountain ash be planted -•*. tho back' of Newman's Knob. It was considered that trees, of one kind planted' 111 ■ sections on.this avenue would, be-much mora eff-otivt*. A BU_-com_uttee consisting of Dr. Gosset, tho secretary (Mr W. C. Armitag.), and Mr White-Persona, was appointed to inspect Scarborough Hill and--Park, and report as to what- trees would be best to -replace those that have died off. It was reeclred to. ask tho Borough Council's permission to plant on Wakefield avenue. A young oak tree offex-d by _us,J. D. Watson was accepted with thanks.'for which a spot near the- vicarage .vill ba selected. Mr H. N. Buttle, senr., was de-ted to the committee, vice Mr H. Sorensen, jnur.
