LIBERALS AND LABOUR AND HAWKE'S BAY SEAT.
(fl-_____ TO "THB . BESS."J WELLINGTON, Juno 1. Liberals and Labour are apparently coins to unite in tho attempt to defeat tho Reform candidate in Hawko's Bay. IMr G. Spencer Clapham, tho Labour candidate for Hawke's Bay at tho last general election, informed a '•Post' - representative to-day that ho bad no intention of offering his servioes to tho • electors this year. #Ho had definitely decided to etfcand aside with tho object of leaving a clear field for Mr R. McNab. who had been selected by' thr» Liberal party to contest the seat. Mr Campboll, who at present holds tbo seat, is a staunch Reformer, and very popular, and thero is every indication that he will bo again returned with » ' substantial majority.
