MR G. W. RUSSELL AT MILTON.
(l-tESS ASSOCIATION TEL-GRAM.) ■ -MILTON, Juno I. Mr G. W. Russell, M.P,, addressed a : largo meeting at Milton to-night, tho ' Muyor (Mr C. King) presiding. • Mr Russell received a good hearing. Regarding naval defence, ho deprecated 7 tho establishment of.a "toy navy." and advocated dependence on tho British Navy, with threo or four submarines, torpedo destroyers, etc., and a fleet of airships to hold off tho enemy till help arrived. Mr Russell dealt at great lcngtli with finance, scathingly criticised the Govornmont on this atatT other matters, and dealt with tho criticisms of tho Opposition by Ministers, and with tho strike. A vote of thanks to Mr Russell and confidence in tho - Party he represented, was carried.
