Since the forgery of bank notes was reported from .-iickland, the polico havo kept a sharp look-out on all vessels from tho Dominion, though they failed to detect the arrival of any suspects. Tho movements of a foreigner, however, aroused suspicion, and *ho was closely watched. To-night a strong force of detectives paid a surprise visit to a lodging-house in Redfern, and arrested the foreigner while he was at dinner. A search of his room revealed a complete plant for printing bank-notes, including a press, printer's ink, valuable lenses, prepared plates for etching, and a one-pound National Bank note, while under his pillow was a fully-loaded automatic pistol.
