OTTAWA, May 29. The Canadian-Pacific liner, Empress of Ireland, collided during a dense fog with the Norwegian collier Storstad, off Father Point, near Rimouski. • The Empress of Ireland sank within ten minutes of the collision. One thousand lives aro believed to have been lost. The Empress of Ireland cleared tho Customs yesterday for Liverpool. The passengers included a large party of Salvation Army officers, who were going to London to attend the International Congress of the Army.
