QUEEN'S THEATRE.
_ Largo crowd* of patrons witnessed tho new programme, at the Queen's theatre yesterday;-~ono~of the principal .iilms screened was an '..Indian drama, "The* Indian Ambuscade,"" the ending of , v-hioh was somewhat different to the .stereotyped stylo. A.-party; .of Indians, led by a young chief, attack some miners who are returning homo with tbeir gold, but arc killed to tho last man. The sweetheart of the young .: , To "s vengeance and seeks the aid of a neighbouring tribe. A big party i« organised, and they fall upon tho miners unawares, and after a desperate conflict exterminate them. The girl then returns home. A vorv interesting travel film was "The Torrent of Pan," near Lourdcs. Lourdes is world-famous for tbo miracles which are sard to occur there. Thousands of pilgrims come- from all parts of tho world to visit the shrine, where every year there are said to be many cures. Special -niJgrim parties aro made up from Ireland and England, and a euro was claimed of an Irish child last year. From, here the river bends to tho north-west, and runs at some distauco from tho foot of tho mountains. This district is commonly known as the [Landos, and it may be of interest to mention that it is very customary for the peasants to travel on stilts. Attractive supporting films wore "Simple Simon and th© Pelican," a comedy in which a pelican and a monkey act most amusingly; "The Royal Road to Fame." an art drama; "A Winning Mistake," another good comody; "The Bandit's Spurs," drama; and tho latest "Pathe Gazette." . To-day tho programme -will be repeated, and in tne afternoon two soecial films 'will be screened, "The Half-Breed's Treachery"- (Indian drama), '*How Mary Met the Punchers"' (Western drama).* .'-.
