urged the removal of a certain teacher Tho .chief spokesman was the chairmar of tho commit?ee, and be complained that the teacher in question.•punishw the children too severely. Another member cf the committee said that the direatisfaction with the teacher had been so great that he and others hac been elected to the committee on th< express 'ticket" that tl'iry should secure a change. One of ®his boys. b( said, had received twenty-eight cuts on one occneion frooi the teacher. '
■ Comment was made by the Board that the committee had not in fairness to the teacher held or askV for an enquiry. When further interro orated, one of the ' , <n> , !T+'>t'>n ad mitt* that, ricrhtly or wrongly, they want' the teacher remove:! ii ?cor<iance wit 1 tho wish expressed at tho householder* meeting.
The Chief Inspector produced report to show that prior to the teacher tak insr charge the school had got into a; inefficient state. Since h:Vj appointmen the reports had been very good. The Board found there was not suff' cient ground for enouiry. The incident- serves to show wh;6ome country tchool teachers have < put up -with.
