(Canterbury Col-v lege), assistant secretary, Mr C. fc-: Aa*ams, M.Sc., F.R.A.S fWeUington). *■ Section 2—£rof. Chilton, D.Sc.;as-; dstanfc secretary, Dr. Alan Thomson. ;, Section 3—Mr G. Hogbon (plication and Geography), Prof> Segar (Economics), and Mr W, Dowme Stewart, L.L:B (Eoonomics)., _ The general secretary of the local committee is Professor T. H. Laby, and the treasurer is Professor Picken. Various residents have already otfared to entertain some of the visiting scientists. . . ■' An eminent educationalist. Professor Finlay, has written to the committee stating that he regrets he will not he able to attend the sectional lectnxe& in New Zealand in September. It has been arranged, however, that Professor Finlay, through'the courtesy of the Minister of Education, shall deliver lectures orf education, in Auckland and' in Wellington at tho end of July. '
