COALGATE.
At the. Coalgato market yesterday there was a yarding of 3750 sheep and lambs, of which 2550 wero in tbe fat pens, lambs ' accounting for 2100, chiefly" light weights, only a few pens being .finished sorts. The balance of fats was made up of 300 ewes and 150 wethers. The entry of stores consisted practically of lambs, 125 crossbred ewes and a pen of merino wethers making uo the balance. Thero was a fair attendance of farmers, but freezing buyers were in full force. Competition for all fats was very strong, and wim tho exception of one. line of lambs all were sold at auction at full rates. Prices were: —Fat lambs 18s to 20s Id, lighter sorts and unfinished 14s lOd to 17 s Bd. fat crossbred wethers 18s to 23s 3d, fat crossbred ewes 14s 6d to 18s 9d, fat merino ewes 8s to los 9d, sound-mouth crossbred ewes in lamb 16s Bd, aged (inferior) 9s, soundmouth merino wethers lis sd, ewe lambs 14s 9d to 15s lOd, wether lambs 13s 3d. mixed sexes 12s 6d to 13s 3d, culls 6s 5d to 9s. Principal sales were : 177 ewe lambs 15s lOd, 153 wether lambs 13s 3d, 217 mixed sexes 12 s 6d. Fat lambs: Account McLaughlan Bros., 46 at 20s Id; Neave Chapman, 13 at 20s; H. Oliver, 193 at 18s 4d to 19s 9d; H. H. Thome, 96 at 19s 8d; W. Watson, 14 at 19s 7d; W. T. Pollock, 43 at 19s 4d; R. Collings, 107 at 19s 4d; Webb Bros., 74 at 19s; L. Derrett, 42 at 18s lOd; Godfrey Hall, 275 at 17s 4d to 18s 8d; Wilfred Hall, 205 at 16s Id to 18s 6d; H. Levick, JSB at 18s sd; T. E. Pearson-, 32 at 18s 4d; H. Feutze, 239 at 17s 6d; C. Hardy 33 at 17s sd; D. Hawke, 40 at 16s lOd; Doody Bros., 115 at 16s 6d. Cattle: About 30 head" wero yarded, all selling at about market rates, eighteenmonth to two-year-old heifers making from £3 to £5.
