HINDOOS IN CANADA.
SHIPLOAD SHUT OUT.
©J Cable—Frees Association.—Copyright) OTTAWA, May 27. The Immigration Department intends enforcing tho Ordor-in-Council prohibiting artisans, Asiatic, or -otherwise, entering the Dominion during the nest six months.
The enforcing of tho Ordor-in-Council vill prevent tho admission,,of tho shipload of Hindoos seeking entry at Vancouver.
Gurdifc Singh, a wealthy Hindu aboard the Kamogata Maru, was refused permission to land, and is, therefore, unable to carry his case to the Dominion Conrts.
Extensively signed protests are reaching the Government against admitting the Hindoos.
It is pointed out that if the present arrivals are admitted, the Canadian immigration Jaws will become a farce, and Canada will remain open Io tho whole population of India if it wishes to enter the Dominion.
