The Hon. T. Fergus left for the North.by the Wahine last evening. Dr. Thacker left last night on a. visit to Sydney.
Dr. Valintine, Inspector-General of Hospitals and Chief Health Officer, uu denvent an operation at a private hospital in New Plymouth, on Saturday morning, and is making satisfactory progress towards recovery.
Messrs John Strauchon and Major Lusk, members of the West Coast timber, Mining, and Land Commission, arrived from Wellington by the Wahine yesterday morning, on their way to Hokitika. They were accompanied by Mr T. F. Sandfor'd, secretary to the Commission.
