ASHBURTON.
\ mooting of creditor* in tbe bank nipt estate of Michael Carney, o f \l--ford Forest, farmer, was to have been held at the Ashburton Courthouse vesterdny. Mr J. Davison (deputy-official assignee), and tho bankrup*, for whom Mr R. Kennedy appeared, were the only persons present, and the meeting was adjourned sino die. Tho statement presented by bankrunt showed liabilities amounting to £2549, all t o unsecured creditors, the largest being the New Zen land Farmers' Coop. Association, Ltd., and Da'.gety" and" Co., Ltd. The assets were nil.
The second Winter Show, to be held at Ashburton on Juno 12th and 13th, under the auspices of the Ashburloii Poultry Society, promises to be a most successful exhibition. The entries are coming in well, and the classes for dogs, butter, preserves, cooking, and needlework, promise to be a record while the entries of grain, seeds, roots' garden produce, and poultry should bo well up to last year. The"Society has secured tho whole of the Arcade for this year's show.
