For cycliug without lights at night, Charles Owens, Frederick Workman, Edgar Bradley, Leslie James Lewi6, Kn nest Spoucer, John Morrison. Rose McCloy, Henry Gapes. William Ransbury, «nd Stephen O'Brien were each fined 10s, and costs. Porte Tokaroff, William A. Smith, Bernard Flood, and Arthur BiJlcliff were each fined os and costs. Eric N. Webb and Francis Haughey were convicted and discharged. CRUELTY TO A HORSE. Maurice Barton (Mr Ward) was charged with ill-treating a horso by dwviug it in a cart with an open sore on the shoulder. Sergeant Bird said that tho injury was of such a nature that tho animal should not have been worked. Itefendant said the horee had been scalded on the neck. It had a habit of throwing its head up, and the injury was caused by this. The aore v»'as not touching tho harueta, and the horso did not flinch when tho place was touched. Campbell Baker, owner of tho animal, also denied that the animal had been ill-treated. Tiie Magistrate eaid tbo case was -not a serious one, therefore, while ho would convict tho defendant, ho would not inHict a fine. DISMISSED. Samuel Sydney Smith chargeo Daniel McClintock with assaulting him, and in turn, charged Smith with'assault. . Mr Casaidy appeared.for Smith, and Mr J. Conlairfor McClintock. T£o Magish trato dismissed both informations. AFFILIATIONS. Benjamin William Hoxnian.(Mr Donnelly) was adjudged the father of an illegitimate .child,*, and Qrdlejedw.to. 'pay 5s a'weekVtowards.-its support, as well as to pay certain expenses. Mr Cassidy appeared for the complainant. Ernest Candy was also adjudged the father of an illegitimate child, and was ordered to pay 7e 6d a week towards its support, in addition to paying modical expenses. - • " •. *
