COURT.
(By Cable.—Press Association Copyright)
(Received May 26th, 9.10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 25.
The Supremo Court held that tho owners of tho Titanic wero liable for compensation only in accordance with the American maritime law. This means that the litigants will receive nothing, as the law limits the liability of American companies to passenger and freight money collected from passengers, amounting in the"" Titanic case to 90,000 dollars.
Justice McKenna dissented from the decision, holding that the British Law ought to apply in tho case of British companies.
Suits amounting to 13,000,000 dollars havo been pending in American courts.
