OBITUARY.
FRANCIS KOSSUTH

VIENNA, May 25.
The death is announced of Francis Kossuth, son of Louis Kossuth, the Hungarian patriot.
Francis Kossuth was born at Budapest on November 16th, 1841. He was educated in ' 3?ari_ and at London University College. He was taken prisoner at the age of eight yeais. by the Austrians, and kept in prison as a child at the Fortress of Presburg. When he was liberated ho was exiled. He joined his father at Kutahia, Asia Minor. He went with his father to England, and then went to Italy as a oivii engineer,, obtaining considerable repute in this profession. Later, he was elected to tho Hungarian Parliament, and after a short career became acknowledged Leader of tho Party of Independence. His influence in the country and his popularity rose rapidly, and when the Hungarian Parliameut resisted the encroachments on constitutional rights, ho became leader of tho coalesced parties forming a majority of tho House.
