CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES.
(press association telegram ) AUCKLAND, May 26
On receipt of the news to-day that the Home Rule Bill had passed the House of Commons, a meeting of prominent Irishmen, was called, and it was decided to despatch cables of congratulation as follows:—
Redmond, House of Commons, Lon-don—--New Zealand Irishmen and tbeir friends eend congratulations and undying gratitudo to Irish party on splendid victory, which makes for peace and unity to Empire. Convey feelings to English, Scotch, and Welsh supporters '—Martin Kennedy, Thomas Cahill." "Prime Minister. London—Accept from the Irish people in Now Zealand and their friends congratulations on, and gratitude for, great victory, which brings peace and unity* to Empire. Kindly express our gratitudo to our English, Scotch, and Welsh supporters. —Martin Kennedy, Thomas Cahill."
