MR H. ATMORE AT CLINTON.

CLINTON, May 20. Mr H. Atmoro, M.P. for Nelson, delivered an address to a largely-attended meeting iv tho Public Hall at Clinton tonight. The address was mainly an indictment of tho Massey Government " : on tho .score of broken promises and unfaithfulness to election pledges. Tho * speaker strongly criticised tl»o 'toy navy" scheme, and asserted, concerning tho recent big strike, that Mr Massey was simply Piimo Minister under direction, and had boon afraid to take active measures to sottlo tho strike. Mr Atmoro roccivod a very attentive hearing, his remarks beingffr- t quently punctuated with applause. A motion expressing thanks to tho speaker and confidence in the Libor&l „ Party, and a wish that at tho nest election tho party under the le-adorship of Sir Joseph. Ward would be reWrnod to power, was carried unanimously.
