Tho revaluation of .Waimato County makes the unimproved value £4,379,213 and tho capital value £5,365,183. In the Waimate County there are 146 registered motor-cars, as compared with 82 on January Ist, 1912, and 171 motorcycles, as compared with 75. .""There are sixteen, Stato land settlements in the Waimate County, cloven being under the L.I .P. tenure and five under renewable lease. Tho total number of holdings is 413, accounting for a population of about 2000. Mr John Reeves, of Timarn road, states that he has had a second crop of apples on somo trees in his orchard this season. .
In its report for tho annual meeting, the Council of the Waimate Acclimatisation Society states that it has again endeavoured to get an open season for paradise ducks, but without success. "We'think it a pity these birds are not allowed to bo shot, as wo hear that, large numbers of them are destroyed every year by farmers and others in the back country, where tho birds are a nuisance." , . ■• His Lordship Bishop Julius visited tho Waihao district on Sunday. A confirmation service was held at Waihao Downs at 11 a.m., sixteen candidates being presented. In the afternoon the Bishop confirmed ten candidates at Morven, and in the evening dedicated St. Matthew's Church, whach is now free of debt.
