The Saints kicked off towaids the northern goal; and B. Bussoll set his backgoing. Fast folio-wing up by T. Kirton, saw passing between Loader, Smythe, and Robertson the latter 'dashing over wide out. Smythe convertedwith a good kick. Immediately afterwards, a nice rush by the Blue and Whites ended in Tikio kicking across, and Mitchejl, cleverly beating Robertsou aud Gasson, scored a good try, which Read failed to convert. A j hard rush beat Brierley, and gave i Brunsden a try wide out. Smythe failing at goal. A. series of loose rushes in tho St. Albans twenty-five, ended in W. Bussell obtaining and potting a neat goal. Smythe secured possession, and after a tricky run, scored alongside tho posts. Lyes failed €6 convert. The Cardinals continued their attack, j and nice passing by B. Bussell, Gasson, and W. Bussell, let tho latter over under the bar, Bussell converting. A fine run by Manihera, and clever passing by Boon •■■id Mitchell, gave the latter a try. rTrtchell failed to convert. After the interval, Sydenham at once attacked, and a passing rush by the Cardinals' backs ended in Loader going over wido out," Smythe failing with the kick. B. Bussell got his backs again into position, and a crisp clean passing rush by all the Cardinal backs ended in Smythe touching down behind the posts. Lyes missing with tho kick at goal. Brunsden, picking up, scored a good try, which W. King failed to improve. Sydenham continued to hold control, and Kirtou scored, but failed with tho kick.
