Addington kicked off against the sun, and by a''quick return tho Black and Greens were attacking strongly, and the backs, led by Piper, had the Black and Whites in trouble, but Steven-- returned with a good kick. Open play followed-, and by smart work McGeo secured, and in a melee R. Shanks ran over. Morris failed with tho kick at goal, Addington, now warming up to their work, took play down to tbcir opponents' twenty-five, but off-sido play spoilt their chance of scoring. The Black and Whites obtained, and MoGettrick started a good run, and, Watts, runuing round, took the ball over the line. Stevens failed with tho kick. 3—3. From a scrum the Linwood team bullocked their way across, and R. Shanks touched down. Morris failed with an easy kick. Linwood 6, Addington 3. Ashton, intercept-ing a pass from Linwood, transferred'to Flatman, who scored a very easy try. Stevens kicked a goal.. Addington 8, Linwood 6. Just prior to half-time, the Black and Greens secured, and, by hustling some, Stokes just scored. H. Shanks kicked a goal, the ball justfailing over the posts. Linwood 11, Addington 8. Half-time was then called. "McGettrick retired hurt, and Leggat took his place. When play was resumed,' Watts obtained by a cross pass, and scored. Stevens was success - Jul with the kick. Addington 13. Linwood 11. The Black and Whites wero attacking strongly and were awarded a penalty kick, with which Stevens was again successful. Addington 15, Linwood 11. Moro even play followed, and then Stokes scored in a scramble. Shanks i'-uled with the kick. Addington 15, Linwood 14. Linwood wero given a penalty kick, and H. Shanks was successful in* putting the ball over the posts from near the half-way jnark. Linwood 16. Addington 15. Smith, by fast following up, obtained the ball from a mix up, and scored. Shanks failed with the kick. Time was then called, tbo final scores beivg Linwood 19, Addington lv. Mr-J. Auld was referee.
