PIGEON SHOW
A RECORD EXHIBIT. Tho seventh annual Pi_eon Show of tho Christchurch Pigeon Club was continued in tho Alexandra Hall on Saturday. Th- judge had a hard task to placp tho special prizes in tho Homing section, in which F. Kibblewhito was the principal winner, gaming two specials and a number of firsts. The quality of tho birds on show was exceptionally good, and entries were received from all parts of tho Dominion as •well aa Australia.
A novelty was the exhibition of Mr James Ashley's utility pigeons, recently imported from the United States and England. The birds are quite distinct from faucy pigeons, aud, considering iho fact that the squabs obtain a weight of 18oz in five weeks, tho success of the new industry, which the owner hopes to create, should bo assured. The following aro additional results:—
