SHIPPING NOTES.

The Commonwealth and Dominion liner Nerehana left Wellington for- London on Saturday afternoon. At present discharging cargo fi-t Melbourne, the steamer Tannouiels is expected to reach Lyttelton in about a month's time. The vessel is originally from Now York. The Union collier Rakanoa has been fixed to load coal at Westport for Fiji and Vavau. She will coal H.M.S. Philomel and tho Tutanekai, which havo gone to the Islands in connexion with the official visit of the Governor. Before- undertaking tho trip, the Rakanoa will pay -visit to Wellington with coal.

When she was being berthed on Friday evening, the Knramu bumped against the breastwork at Lyttelton and injured her hawser pipe, in consequence of which her departure for the West Coast has been postponed until Friday next.

The Kini is to leave Greymouth for Lyttelton this evening. The Warrimoo reached Lyttelton from Dunedin yesterday morning—a day late. She will sail to-day for Northern ports. Mr G. Kavanagb has signed .on the Monowai as assistant purser.

Mr R. Gilbert havinsr rejoined the Monowai as third officer, Mr R Huntley has signed off the vessel's articles. Mr A. R. Stewart has joined as extra officer.

Mr P. J. _~we"l, chief officer of the Nf*_kuta, has gone ashore on leave, and Mr W. J. Tate, late of the Mayflower, has been engaged as second officer. The Svenor, which was abandoned off tho coast of Tasmania, nnd whose crew was landed at Strahan by the Wainui, was a steel barque of 1267 tons. She was originally the British barque Corryvrechan, but since being sold to the Norwegians* was registered at Sandefjord.
