WOMEN HARANGUE KING GEORGE.
MORE PICTURES DAMAGED. LONDON, May 22. King George and Queen Mary attended a matinee at His Majesty's Theatre. A suffragette, who had chained herself to a seat in tho stalls, shouted to tho King, "You Czar." • Sho was removed struggling. Another suffragette, chained to an adjoining seat, shrieked and was gagged until a mechanic removed tho seat bodily.
Another woman clambered on to the stage and harangued tho King. Sho was pushed into the auditorium and ejected..
A similar interruption followed, and seven women and two men were-ejected.
The polico wero compelled to rescue tho ejected people from a hostilo crowd in tho street.
Suffragettes exploded a bomb in Rosehall Church, Edinburgh. Littlo damage was, however, done.
A suffragette smashed fivo pictures in the National Gallery, and another smashed pictures in the Royal Academy.
A woman entered the Venetian room with a hammer concealed in her clothing, and smashed the pictures within reach, slightly damaging the "Madonna and Child with Infant Saint," "Portrait of Guolano Malatiuc," "Madonna and Child with . Infanl Saint," "Madonna and Child," "Christ's Agony in tho Garden of Gethsemane," "Saint Peter the Martyr," "St. John," "St. Christopher," and "Portrait of a Doge." Tho woman, who was cut about by broken glass, was arrested. Simultaneously, another suffragette in tho Academy, with, a cleaver, smashed Clauson's "Priinavera-," which was damaged to the extent of £250. She was also arrested.
