Oats are not selling very readily. Some ore being shiuped Home and a few odd lines are Wng sent to tie North Isknd- It is considered £hat a great many more w3l have to be shipped away before.the price will be affected. Gartons axe commanding Is 6d, Is Sd, to Is 9d, Dnns Is 8d to Is 9d, Algerians Is ?d to Is lOd, according to quality, on frocks. To-viay. a large quantity of -wheat and oats wns taken from timam in tb<> Waitemata for Auckland and the Westmenth this weok took a large consignment of oats for Avoninouth and Liver-

pool. Freights hare been reduced to ,25s per ton for wheat and oats, and 2"s Gd for peas, but shippers want to see them lower than this to make the shipping business profitable to them. Oatsheaf chaff is not eellinc very briskly. The quaiity of that offering is only medium and the price- given, js £2 5s on tracks, sacks extra. The potato market is easier than it was, this being due to the fact, probably, that dijTjrine is now general and a lot are on offer. As high as £4 per ton on trucks at a country station wa& paid during the week, but"it was for an exceptionally prime line. The general price is £3 10e to £3 12s 6d, country stations, sacks extra. Potatoes are still heing bought in Timarn for Oamaru, where crtms are said to be turning out badly.
