BALMORAL.
The weather has been very boisterous during tho last few days, and tno ranees iiavo received a heavy coating of snow. Feed has beon very plentiful this autumn, but the iambs have not fattened as well as expected. The turnip crops, although they promised well in the early part of tho season, have not fulfilled expectations. Thoso farmers who sold their lambs in tho early part of the season as stores have done very well, indeed, one settlor averaging 15s, which, must bo considered good value. If these prices keep up, those farmers who purchased portions of tho Balmoral Estate must havo good prospects in front of them. At tho late election for a councillor on the Amuri County Council, tho Balmoral eettlers turned out in force and wero successful in returning Mr \v. Mcßae as their member. The Council at their last me&tintr decided to form and shingle the Tekoa road. This is a work that will provo a great boon to tho residents along road. A start has already been made with the work, and it is hoped that it will be pushed along with all speed.
