TERRITORIAL NOTES.
The new drums and fifes for tho Senior Cadets' Band, which were subscribed for by the citizens of Christchurch, and which recently arrived from England, will be formally presented-to the Band in King Edward Barracks next Thursday at 8 p.m.
There appears to bo an impression that notification to register is &ent out by the Defence authorities to all boya on their reaching the ago of fourteen years. This is not so., as the onus of registering for milkary service rests with every boy or his parents or guardiaus on his reaching the age. The rear parties who remained at Kowai to clear up the camp ground, returned to Christchurch last night. The weather during th© past two or three days has been very cold, and yesterday there was a tairly heavy fall of snow,on the site of the late camp. It is notified that the names of intending candidates for the competitive examinations for commissions in tho Territorial forces must reach Group Headquarters not later than May 26th, otherwis© they will not be able to sit. - -.
