, A large number of residents of View Hill'and the surrounding districts assembled in the schoolroom last Friday evening to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs T. Harle and.Messrs W. and J. Harle, who liavo resided in tho district for over 32 years. :An excellent programme of songs and other items were given by the Misses Heavysides, Rydo, Meyer. Smith, Harle. and Messrs Foster,:Rvde, Tritt, Mathews, and sovoral school*children.-' Tho chairman (Mr Fantham) presented, on behalf of the View Hill people, to Mrs Harle an afternoon tea set and silver teaspoons, to Mr T. Harle a travelling rug, to Mr W. Harle a gladstono bag. and to Mr J.'Harle a Kaiapoi rug. Mr Fantham spoke of tho high esteem in which tho Harlo Bros, wero held, and expressed regret at their departure. The Messrs Harle suitably replied. Supper and dancing concluded a very pleasant evening. '"'...
