WAIKARI.
A public.meeting in connexion with tho Tennis Club was held on Wednesday night, tho Rev. A. Kirkland in the chair. The secretary read the balancesheet of the -reccut bazaar, showing total receipts to be £136 8s lid,- expenditure £16 19s lid. leaving a credit balance of £119 Ss 2jd. The receipts by subscriptions, donations, concert:., etc., to tho general account amounted to £118 2s Od. The expenditure, on labour, deposit on ground, and incidental costs, amounted to £08 18s 4d, leaving a credit balance of £19 Is sd. making the total credit balance £138 1.2s 7jd. It was decided that tho balance duo on tho land (£3O) bo paid, that tenders ho called for laying the two courts down in asphalt, and that £2o bo set aside for the bowling green. The secretary read letters from Messrs G. W ; : Forbes, M.P., G. Rutherford. W. W. Mcllae. secretary of tho Culverden Tennis Club, and others; wishing the club every success, and apologising for not being able to be present at the opening of the bazaar. Votes of thanks were accorded to Sir George Clifford for his kindness in coming to open the bazaar; to Messrs M. Matson and Co. for transfer of auctioneer's license to Mr R. R. Furze' for acting as auctioneer, Mr F. 11. Davie in surveying and preparing plans-of tho tennis section, to all those ladies and gentlemen who assisted in tho recent bazaar.' to the donors of stock., produce and material for same.', and to the secretary for his .valuable, help.
