AN EVER-INCREASING DEMAND

LONDON, May 20,
The "Daily Mail," referring to the world meat famine, states that cattle in Argentina are so expensive that landowners are unable to properly stock their laud. The public demand is so great that the animal-* are sold whenever saleable. The demand for milk in England, has led to tho policy of slaughtering instead of breeding calves, and the difficulty has been increased by the Japanese becoming meat-eaters.
