His Lordship Bishop Grimes visited Rakaia on 'luesday evening jor tuo purposo of viewing the impiovements that Lave been made m this portion of his diocojo during tiie past year, nis Lordship was jicconip.inied by Father Cronin. At evening devotions ho expressed himself delighted at the- improvements that h<lo been '-indcrtaßcn, and trusted that tho building of the Convent and other improvements contemplated wo'ild be brought to a successful termination. Before benediction, his Lordship preached an impressive sermon on the".Rosary," explaining lucidly the meaning of the mysteries and tho advantages to bo gained by the devout recitation of this prayer. After tho sermon his Lordship administered th 3 Papal blessing to the largo congregation. At tho termination of the sevv.ee Bishop Grimes complimented tho congregation and their pastor (Dr. Kennedy> on the congregational singing. Ho rightly attributed its success to-tho devoted work of the sisters of Mercy.
