KING'S BIRTHDAY.
TERRITORIAL PARADES. Parades of troops will be hold at all centres in honour of the Kings birthday on Wednesday, June 3rd. The troops wil] be formed up at 8.45 a.m., and the salute will be given at 9 a.m. in Hagley Park, Christdhurch. A Royal salute of 21 guns will be fired at Christchurch. The procedure, except as regards the time of parade, will be the same as last year. At local centres where sufficient troops are not available to hold a review, the parade will be in co-operation with any celebrations inducted by the local authorities. No movement of troors by rail in the district is authorised, except between Lyttelton and Christchurch. The parade will count as a whole-day parade, and will be compulsory. Leave wilT be given freely, but absentees without leave are to bo prosecuted.
A parade of all Senior Cadets in Christchurch and suburbs will be held in honour of his Majesty's birthday on Wednesday, Jimc 3rd. Cadets will fall in at Cranmer square at S.lo a.m., and the*parade, which will be compulsory, will count as a whole-day parade.
The committee' of the Chrrstchurcb Savage Club has invited the officers of the Territorial Force residing in tho vicinity of Chrrtchurch to an Empire Day social evening on Monday next in the Chamber of Commerce. Officers attending will wear uniform—bluo or khaki—without belts.
