RECORD SEIZURE AT FREMANTLE.

The record seizure of opium made by tho Customs officials, took place on board tho 'steamer A.shburton, from London, via the Cape of Good Hope.

F:ve hundred, pounds of opium, valued at over £5000, was discovered amon£ tho coal.

Tho captain, officer.*, and crew, a number of whom are Chinese, deny any knowledge of the existence of the drug on board.
