ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

NEW PLYMOUTH, May 18

A young married woman named Christina Ferris Pearce appeared at the Magistrate's Court to-day to answer a charge of having attempted to commit suicide. She said that the deed was the result of an altercation with her husband. Ho was shaving at the time, and she snatched the razor and made two gashes in her throat, just f o frighten him. As the couple had effected a reconciliation, accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
