THE LEAGUE GAME.
A NEW CLUB FORMED. A meeting for tho jurpose of forming a Christchurch Club, under League rulee, was held at the residence of Dr. Thacker last evening. • Dr. Thacker was elected chairman, and in on address giving the viewe of supporters of League football spoke of the progress of the game, and its possibilities. He -had been or-proa-ched for his assistance in tho matte--t-f forming a Chr.stchurch Club, and was there to further the interests and future welfare of tho club, if formed. Mr E. L. Button moved, "That a club be fo:med to be known a« the Christchur-h Rugby League Football Club." Mr H. Cook seconded the motion, which was carried. The fo'ilowins execul'vo arid committee {?*» km.) was elected:—President, Mr T. L. Cowluhaw; vice-presidents, Messrs T. Maude, S. Barrett, C. H. Cr.zton, J. Reynolds, ' \V. Huyward. John Holmes. N. Duncan, S. Staples, P. C. Freetb,- and S. N. Robinson; secretary, Mr L. Guiney; committee of organisation, Dr. Thacker, Messrs Geo. Milns, H. Cook, E. L. Woodhouse, W. Hall, F. Harvey, T. B. Pike, W. L. Clark, and J. F. D. White. It wan decided that a meeting of all members and supporters be he'd on Thursday at 8 p.m., at the residence of- Dr. Thacker, to make further arrangements. A vote of thanks was accorded the chairman for his assistance towards the formation of tho club. Tho names of active players handed in augurs well for the success of the club.
