GENERAL HAMILTON AND THE CADETS.

PALMERSTON NORTH, May 18. . General Sir lan Hamilton, accompanied by General Godley, inspected this afternoon No. 6 Area- Group of Cadets at Fitzherbert. The boys assembled at the show grounds and.marched to the scene of tbe manoeuvres, a distance of about three miles. Hera a plan' of attack and defence was carried out, 1036 cadets taking part. The manoeuvres wore watched carefully by \ General Hamilton. Ho criticised the -; delay on the part of some of the companies in the attack-, and also the halo? mg out of the scouts till the last, as they would havo been shot in actual war. He considered the hoys carried out their duties well, and complimented them accordingly. »■--,
