PROHIBITIONISTS AND HOTELS.
TO THK KDITOR OF "THE PRESS." Sir,—As an elector of Christchurch North, and thereby a constituent of the Rev. L. M. Isitt, I desire to put a question to-my member .which I trust he will answer without equivocation or satirical "trimmings" of any kind whatever. I have waited unti] his return to this city before putting this question. Quite recently my member was addressing political meetings in the North Island, aud among the places he visited was New Plymouth. Tell it not in Gath, but whilst in that salubrious borough,-did he put up in one of the many coffee palaces therein? Not he. Ho put up at a fully licensed hotel. He, like myself, knows where the best "tucker" is to be obtained. But is he consistent? Perhaps he believes, with another eminent Parliamentarian, that "■consistency is the refuge of fools."— Yours etc., E. NOR DON.
