RANGIORA "COUNCIL BYELECTION.
TO TnE EOITOR or "THK PRESS." Sir, —I am given to understand -that there are now 800 names on the Borough Roll, and at tho last election for Mr-yor and one Councillor, only 400 odd burgesses recorded their votes. As tho coming contest on Thursday next is only a by-election, it would appear that even * the latter number will not be reached. Now, Sir, I. think that overy poison, who is able to vote on that day should make an effort to do so. to support the candidate who, they think, will represent them the best on the Council, and to show that the majority of the public are alive and taking interest in municipal matters. If the views of tho candidate who is elected are not in acordanco with the ideas of the electors who do not vote, well, then, I say, they have only themselves to blame. In conclusion, I would urge tho whole of tho burgesses not to fail to record their votes and support their chosen candidate.—Yours, etc., ELECTOR. Rangiora, May 18th.
