REFORM PARTY'S PROSPECTS

WELLINGTON, May 17
Mr Massey returned from his East Coast trip yesterday, highly pleased with his reception and tho offers of support in aid of tho Reform Party, not only from friends and sympathisers, but- also Irom many who were formerly supporters of the Liberal Party. People were everywhere especially pleased with ttio manner iv which the recent strike was settled by the firm attitude of tbe Government, and fully realise that the country was saved from further trouble of a very serious nature. Tho Prime Minister had two splendid meetings at Napier and Gisborne, which hitherto had been strongholds of the Liberal Party. Tho Reform Party has already announced for theso seat, two strong candidates, who are making excellent headway.
