DEATH OF A MOTOR CYCLIST

THE INQUEST

An inquest was opened yesterday morning before Mr T. A. B. Bailey, concerning the death of Mark forward Isherwood, who was found in a dying condition near Darfiold on Friday night. Dr. Westenra, who conducted tho post mortem examination, said that deceased had ovidently been thrown violently on to the handles of the motorcycle he was riding, causing injuries to tho heart, which rosulted in death.

Another witness named Harper gavo evidence that from an examination he had made of tho locality it would appear that deceased was riding the cycle along the macadamised part of tho road, when he suddeidy swerved to tho side on to a grass track. The motor became embedue. in a rut, and in trying to extricate the machine the rider would bo thrown on to the handle bars.

The inquest was then adjourned til Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Darfield, to enable further evidence to bo given.
