KAIAPOI
There was a representative attendance of delegates at the general meeting of the Kaiapoi Electorate Prohibition Leaguo on Saturday in the W.C.T.U. rooms, Raven street, Kaiapoi. Mr J. H. Blackwell, president, was in tho chair, and delivered an address and welcomed Messrs Toombes and Righton, the organisers for the movement. After tho report and balance-sheet were adopted there was •: general discussion.. The officers electe I were:—President, Rev. F. Martin; vice-presidents, Itovs. T. Laishley, P. W. Fairclough, T. Miller, — Wills, and K. Kippenbcrger, Messrs T. Burgin, T. B. Ward, F. B. Lane, Captain Hewson, C. Allington, and the presidents of the W.C.T.U. in the respective subdistricts. Mr A. MePherson was elected secretary, and Miss McPherso'i assistant. Mr G. A. Ellen accepted office as treasurer.- The president and Mr Allington wero appointed representatives to th© Dominion Alliance, and, with the secretary, were appointed to represent the League at tho Canterbury Council. Votes of thanks wero passed and the delegates wero entertained to afternoon tea.
